About the Library
The library at Maria Immacolata Catholic School serves as an extension of the classroom, and provides students and teachers with the materials that enrich classroom work and independent research, support the curriculum and promote recreational reading.
The Maria Immacolata Library serves an elementary curriculum ranging from grades pre-kindergarten through seventh grade. All students have a regularly scheduled time for using the library. A school librarian is available to assist students and teachers. The librarian provides students with instruction in the use of the library and library materials. The librarian is a member of the Library Media Specialists of the Houma-Thibodaux Diocese.
The library management program is fully automated and allows students to check for materials on any computer with Internet access. The URL http://destiny.arch-no.org will take you to the diocesan home page. Click on “Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux” and then click on “Maria Immacolata School.” We use Follett’s Destiny library management program. Students may search the catalog as a guest, or they may login using their Destiny login account information. Logging in with your account will allow students/teachers to put materials on hold, create lists, and view checkouts of library books. The MICS library online catalog may be searched using the “Library Search” or “Destiny Quest” tabs.
