We are called to Serve

Central Catholic High School Parent Participation Program builds community and helps provide the needs and services of CCHS and its mission.  It is also a great way to meet other parents working for the same goal and investment, a great Catholic education.

 

Parents are required to contribute 40 hours of service for the 2015-16 school year. We have many activities and programs that you can participate in to receive your hours. Please sign up when you can to help out at these events.

Parental Participation Program

The intent of the program is to have broad participation and involvement by all parents in all facets of the CCHS school life. Your volunteer hours provide for needs and services which help the school in its mission. This program represents an absolute minimum, and we encourage those who fully support the school with an abundance of participation to continue that tradition of service.

For those who can provide parental participation, a minimum of 40 service hours per family per year is required. Participation hours for the 2015-2016 school year must be earned between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016. Hours earned after March 31 will apply to the following school year. If you cannot provide parental participation in any of the usual areas, you must contact the office to see if there is some special talent or ability that can be mutually agreed upon to meet the pledge obligation.

For those who are unable to actively participate in providing these needs, a fee of $400 per family is required.

You will be assessed for any unearned hours for the 2015-2016 school year with payment due by April 15, 2016. Outstanding accounts will be treated in the same manner as any unpaid financial obligation to the school, up to and including withholding of any further testing and/or graduation until the entire outstanding balance is paid.

Anyone who will serve in an activity of a “regular” nature with direct service to or supervision of students is mandated to receive a Diocesan approved Safe Environment Training certification. The program is available online; contact the school for more information.

The Parental Participation Pledge is to be signed and returned to the school with your registration application. Your Service Log is to be turned into the office as work is performed, but in any case, no later than one week before the end of each quarter. For large activities, the coordinator will turn in a Service Log to the office for all activities being performed. It is the individual’s responsibility to accurately record your participation by signing in for each activity. Immediate family members (including grandparents) are also eligible to contribute towards a family’s participation commitment. A quarterly statement detailing hours earned to date will be provided to each family. After your minimum of 40 hours of participation is achieved, continue to report any additional hours to provide accurate participation requirements when next year’s activities are planned.
